By Han Yongqiang

Abstract: Based on analysis of China educational finance statistical indicators between 2005 and 2011, the results show there are some problems of investment in vocational education, such as inadequate investment, unreasonable investment structure and relatively low investment compared to general education. Meanwhile, overall investment relative to GDP, annual expenditure per vocational student and government appropriation for vocational education in China are much lower than the average level of OECD countries. Therefore, Chinese government should further increase investment in vocational education, optimize the investment structure, improve the input mechanism, reduce the investment gap between general and vocational education in order to provide material foundation to ensure the healthy development of vocational education.
